Nestled between the jungle canopy and the Pacific coast, La Bajura Nosara offers a slower, more intentional way to experience Costa Rica. Inspired by the natural rhythm of Nosara, our homes are designed to bring together barefoot luxury, peaceful living, and the beauty of the wild.
At La Bajura Nosara, mornings begin with ocean air and birdsong, afternoons unfold beneath swaying palms, and evenings settle into golden sunsets and quiet connection. Whether you’re here to surf, recharge, explore, or simply rest, our spaces are curated to feel calm, effortless, and deeply rooted in nature.
Our signature dome experience is inspired by the energy of Nakshatra Uttirattadi — a celestial frequency associated with balance, nurturing, spiritual alignment, and grounded success. The space is designed to encourage emotional clarity, creativity, inner calm, and deeper connection, while supporting rest, reflection, and renewal. Many guests find the environment naturally invites a sense of harmony, presence, and peaceful focus.

Our beautiful homes and domes were built by Karl, who had this dream for a long time. We’re excited to share the experience with you!
Who We Are
When I first came to Nosara in 2007, I could not believe the beauty, and the ocean captured my heart. The smell of the Molasa and the warmth of the locals won me over. The food was divine. The surfing was my favorite. I came back almost every other year until 2011 when I signed up for a Pranassage training at the Nosara Yoga Institute and I was introduced to The Temple of the White Dog Ginger Beer. I was head over heels. The next year when I returned I hunted it down and finally met the magic man who was making it. Karl. He impressed me with his Rope Wall Yoga. We shared Gingerbeer after and we mutually magnetized. We dated for a year before we moved in together into his self made hand made house overlooking the Nosara River. It was an open platform house with no walls, no hot water, no air conditioning, but there was love. We made it a home and we were wild and free. He made Gingerbeer and taught Rope Wall Yoga and I taught Pilates. Little by little the house transformed. After a year of living together we decided to make a baby. When Lucia arrived a lot of things changed much faster. We got a car, instead of riding around on motorcycles. We added walls, windows and doors with screens. We added an air conditioner in the bedroom. And we got hot water with an indoor shower instead of the yard shower. Karl’s dream of building his own house finally seemed clear and real. He made me a special bath house with a tub for relaxing. He asked me to marry him when Lucia was 6, and we are celebrating our 3rd anniversary this year!
The project La Bajura was born from his heart and dreams. He loved the idea of a dome house, so we started with that. Then the rest of the project really took shape. We are happy to share it with people who really can appreciate it. We feel over the moon seeing it full of life and enjoyed. It is completely made of love, blood, sweat and tears. His blood/sweat & my tears!

Uttirattadi is one of these 27 nakshatras that is associated with the more well known Pisces zodiac region.
